Apple Maps will Display Covid-19 Vaccination Sites

 You can already see the vaccine locations on Apple Maps. The company announced the update on Wednesday. Apple Maps use for source VaccineFinder, a website run by Boston Children’s Hospital, which provides information on coronavirus vaccine availability and eligibility.

Users can directly search for nearby vaccination sites in Apple Maps. Another option is to ask Siri, like – “Where can I get a COVID vaccination?” The number of listed sites already surpassed 20,000, but Apple will add more in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, in Apple Maps, users can also find the operating hours and contact information for the site. There is also a link to the provider’s website, so you can easily find out about vaccine availability and make an appointment.

Lots of other tech companies are trying to find ways to help people with the vaccination process. With the new feature, Apple became one of them, offering its users an easy way to take three necessary steps – locate vaccination sites, check their eligibility, and get vaccine appointments.

Facebook and Google are involved in the process

On Tuesday, Facebook also stated that it plans to add VaccineFinder information to its COVID Information Center. The social media giant will show people on its platform when and where they can get vaccinated. It will provide links for making appointments, as well.

According to the company, they will expand the COVID Information Center to Instagram. Facebook is simultaneously working on government and health authority WhatsApp chatbots to help more people register for vaccines.

Meanwhile, Google is providing more ways to find information about coronavirus vaccination. According to the company, people can use Google search and Business Messages in Google Maps to contact local pharmacies owned by Albertsons Companies, including Jewel-Osco, Safeway, Vons, Acme, Albertsons, Tom Thumb, and Shaw’s if they have questions about vaccine eligibility, availability, or appointment booking.
