What is Panini NFT? Discover Panini Blockchain

We all know the Panini albums with card collectables of football players. A long time ago, the players had moustaches and mullet haircuts. Today they do other types of hair experiments. And above all, they are also found on online platforms. These platforms transpose the principle of the collection onto the Internet, with a new concept. They are no longer stickers but what we could call Panini NFT or crypto-Panini.

What are NFTs?

If Bitcoin has been hailed as the digital answer to currencies, NFTs or non-fungible tokens are now touted as the digital answer to collectibles. With these NFTs, cryptocurrencies leave the purely speculative field of action.

These unique digital tokens indeed give ownership rights to works, which are also digital and unique. It is, therefore, the creation of a new market that you are witnessing, a market without counterfeits, often present in the digital field.

By becoming the proud owner of an NFT, you acquire a video, a painting, or even a tweet or a GIF, such as the one representing a defeated Donald Trump which was sold for several million dollars in the United States!

Panini NFT Football Cards

This somewhat special collection is based on very fashionable technology. It’s NFT technology. This technology is currently used in particular in the field of art. The NFT is a certificate of authenticity. This certificate is a digital certificate. It is almost unforgeable; it has a unique signature.

Thanks to this unique signature, you will be able to demonstrate that you are indeed the owner of the rarest card of Cristiano Ronaldo or Romelu Lukaku. It is this certificate of authenticity that gives all its value to this card. It’s an encrypted card.

But what is the interest of companies to launch their NFT? First, this new sector linked to cryptocurrencies remains to be conquered and makes it possible to gain notoriety for sports structures.

Then and above all, NFTs become a source of additional revenue for clubs: the marketing of an NFT is almost free, and the turnover generated by creating a product is shared between the club and the platform.

The sums collected can reach impressive levels. The young French-tech company Sorare has created an NFT universe growing week by week. What is Sorare? In short, it is an online game that mixes real football and digital technologies.

To play Sorare, you must collect cards, each representing a player. The card’s value varies according to the age and qualities of the real football players.

The game’s object is to create teams of five cards and get the highest cumulative rating possible. By finishing at the top of the world table, you can win cards or directly cryptocurrency, sometimes the equivalent of several thousand euros!

Who is the most bankable player in Panini NFT?

Cristiano Ronaldo is the most bankable player. Cristiano Ronaldo’s rarest card was traded last March for the modest sum of 240,000 euros. This is the record so far. Kylian Mbappé finally released his digital version. It has just bought this week for 76,000 euros. It’s more modest.

But what’s funny is that the buyer is one of his teammates. It was Antoine Griezman, the real one, who offered himself a Mbappé card. Griezman also bought his own card. He now has his digital double for 32,000 euros.

Panini NBA NFT

As usual, the trendsetters are the United States. NFTs are no exception to this rule. NBA Top Shot has popularized non-fungible tokens by creating a universe for purchasing player cards or videos of highlights from the North American basketball championship history.

The player’s image or the video of a basket is recorded on the Blockchain. A rarity (therefore a value) results from this because it is not reproducible at will. Prices can soar: in August 2021, the video clip of Lebron James’ dunk during the 2020 NBA Finals was sold for $230,000 (€201,000). The platform claims more than a million users and estimates the number of exchanges on the site at nearly 800 million euros.

A duel could emerge in the world of NFT between the French Sorare and the Canadian Dapper Labs, the parent company of NBA Top Shot. The latter has signed an agreement with the Spanish La Liga to launch a common platform in June 2022.

The conquest of the sports NFT market is still in its infancy, but it could quickly look fierce given the sums at stake.

Panini America

The NFL (National Football League) and Panini America, the trading card manufacturer of the NFL, launched the NFL’s first NFT Trading Card Packs on December 1, 2021. The NFL Trading Card Packs enable fans with an engagement opportunity that combines the traditional hobby of collecting cards with the growing influence of NFTs. Panini America officials started releasing NFT trading cards in October 2021, celebrating the top player performances week after week.

The NFL NFT card collectibles program has launched with the popular Mosaic brand. Donruss Optic and Prizm NFL NFT cards followed in January and February 2022.

The NFL NFT collectibles are available on Panini’s private Blockchain, where traders can purchase NFL NFT cards in pack format or as individual cards. Collectors can also auction their Panini NFT in the Panini Blockchain Marketplace. These cards on the Panini Blockchain can be bought in U.S. currency.

The NFT marketplace has boomed alongside the physical cards collectibles market across all sports during the year 2021. The NFL NFT card packs introduction only made the marketplace much more vibrant.

Panini Prizm NFT

Panini NFT has been a big hit so far for the Prizm platform. Their Prizm releases include a red and green debut pack, a Net Marvels pack, and a silver pack, and they have more on the way. Many of these NFT collectibles have been sold for big money.

So how does buying/selling work?

Buying Panini NFT

You can buy Panini NFT in packs or buy individual cards. Packs have been really hard to collect since the site flies upon hyped releases. The most effective way to collect them has been by logging into your mobile phone app prior to the launch to checkout as soon as the item goes live. Using a desktop has been hit or miss.

But even the app sometimes has issues. You can check out with your account using a PayPal, credit card, or debit card. You can have your payment address already set in your digital wallet to speed up the checkout.

Selling Panini NFT

Collectors can sell packs directly through the Application or Desktops auction. Or you can buy it now with your blockchain account. Panini’s Blockchain runs through the platform that pays out via PayPal. There is a sliding scale of fees. These depend on the total value each NFT card sells for.

If the winner of the auction payment has been declined, your auction will not sell. And you will have to relist it. If your auctions end up with no bids, you also can just relist it. You can also make the collection visible to collectors to place an offer on your NFT cards.

Moreover, you can do this by selecting this icon and making your cards visible. You can make your whole collection visible by clicking the eye icon on the entire collection folder.

There is no way to sell packs whole yet. You have to open your packs. This may change in the future.

In the long term, NFTs will be part of our daily lives

NFTs represent a real revolution in many fields, especially sports, art, but also GIFs, music and the fashion marketplace. We hope we helped you have a bigger picture of what this market represents.

And it’s possible that in five years, we will all have tools on our smartphones to manage our collections of images, NFT trading cards, digitized tickets and other solutions “tokenized.” NFTs will probably be the real tools for the democratization of crypto-assets. The adoption of these technologies by the general public is much easier to envisage than that of bitcoin as a means of daily payment.

NFTs are crypto-assets but don’t quite function as what the general public calls cryptocurrencies. Each token is “non-fungible”: it cannot be divided, nor interchangeable. Therefore, each NFT is unique and can only be in the pocket of one owner at a time. If he wishes, the latter can easily transfer it to a third party in a few clicks.

Dozens of digital collection projects – images and videos – in the world of sport have been launched in the past two years, some of which have been very successful. And behind each card hides an NFT.

Let us cite NBA Top Shot (basketball) and its 600 million dollars exchanged to date, the French of Sorare (football) and its 42 million dollars of known transactions on their cards, Topps MLB (baseball) or even F1 Delta Time (Formula 1).”

Since they are easy to produce and give away, these tokens probably have a long career as digital gifts ahead of them as well.
