Japan Stocks Lower at Close of Trade 

Japanese stocks drifted lower after the close on Wednesday. Losses in companies Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.

At the close, the Nikkei 225 lost 0.05% in Tokyo.

The outperformer was Hino Motors, Ltd on the Nikkei 225 session.  It rose 6.66% or 50.0 points to trade at 801.0 at the close.

Yahoo Japan Corp. was up 3.91% or 28.0 points to close at 745.0. In late trade, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp was up 3.31% or 73.5 points to 2295.5.

Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. was the worst performer of the session. It went lower at 3.30% or 102.0 points to trade at 2985.0 at the close.

Eisai Co., Ltd. went lower 3.20% or 312.0 points to end at 9450.0. Moreover, Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd fell 2.81% or 39.0 points to 1348.0.

 

Falling Stocks were Greater on the Tokyo Stock Exchange

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1812 to 1657 and 210 ended unchanged.

Shares in Yahoo Japan Corp. rose to 5-year highs. That was up 3.91% or 28.0 to 745.0.

The Nikkei Volatility measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options. It was unchanged 0% to 23.54.

Crude oil for November delivery fell 1.30% or 0.53 to $40.14 a barrel. In energy commodities, Brent oil for delivery in December declined 0.94% or 0.40 to hit $42.25 a barrel. The December Gold Futures contract dropped 0.62% or 11.85 to trade at $1896.95 a troy ounce.

USD/JPY rose 0.24% to 105.88, while EUR/JPY was up 0.44% to 124.45.

The US Dollar Index Futures gained 0.01% at 93.757.
