Insomniac Games’ Future
Sony recently reported about buying the Insomniac Games, creator of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4, Spyro the Dragon and Ratchet, and clank. And after the acquisition closes, it will be part of PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios (WWS) at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
In addition to that, PlayStation celebrated the major acquisition with a tweet saying how “honored and thrilled to join forces with this legendary developer.”
Even after the acquisition closes, the management team of Insomniac will continue to operate the studio. However, it is now in partnership with Sony’s internal studio in San Mateo, California.
Aside from that, the headquarters of the American firm is in Burbank, California and it has another branch in Durham, North Carolina, which started in 2009.
And this is the very first new PlayStation internal Developer in a long time. Sony reported in 2016 about ForwardWorks, a studio working on smartphone games. Also, this was the firm’s last studio acquisitions which came at the start of the decade.
