Litecoin and Cardano Founders Might Collaborate for Project

Via Twitter, Charles Hoskinson – the CEO of IOHK – mentioned Charlie Lee and Litecoin (LTC). The CEO declared his desire to work with them. Then, Cardano’s inventor noted that they could realize a cross-blockchain project to allow communication between the two cryptocurrencies.

Hoskinson tweeted, “@SatoshiLite it would be great to do something together. I love the idea of testing cross-chain communication between Litecoin and Cardano.”

In addition to that, he revealed that they have many ideas and thought that the other party has some too.

Charlie Lee, the inventor of Litecoin and known as ‘SatishiLite,’ was enthusiastic about the tweet and wrote ‘Sure’ after sharing a picture with the text “Call my people.”

After that, Hoskinson asked for a contact person, and Lee replied by saying he could contact David Schwartz – the project director of the Litecoin Foundation. Additionally, Lee stated that Schwartz would be happy to hear from him and have an exchange of ideas.

With that, Vardano and the Litecoin community reacted positively to the announcement. But it is still unclear what any cooperation between the two projects could look like.

The obvious ones might be the atomic swaps to let direct exchange between ADA and LTC. But in the crypto community, they suspected that MimbleWimble might be at the center of possible cooperation.

According to a report from CNF, David Burkett, the developer of Grin++, is currently developing Litecoin’s MimbleWimble protocol. It aims to provide the network with more privacy and fungibility.

LIPs

Up to now, two Litecoin Improvement Proposals (LIPs), LIP-0002, and LIP-0003 were released at the end of October 2-19. The first of these implements the ‘Extension Blocks’ needed to integrate MimbleWimble as an opt-in version in the Litecoin protocol.

The LIP-0003 implements MimbleWimble and gives Litecoin a privacy coin function. MimbleWimble (MW) then uses confidential transactions for this. It then lets the senders encrypt the number of coins sent and the addresses. This has a considerable enhancement on the data protection of Litecoin and increases its scalability.

Brave Partnership

Meanwhile, the biggest crypto exchange in Japan in terms of trading volume, BitFlyer, reported its partnership with Brave – a privacy-protecting browser.

Based on the announcement, BiyFlyer and Brave will make a crypto asset wallet for Brave browser users.

As of now, there are no further details about the crypto wallet.

Aside from that, Japanese users of the Brave browser received Basic Attention Token Points (BAP). And this is because of regulations preventing them from obtaining the cryptocurrency BAT or trading their points for money on exchanges.

A Spokesperson from Brave said, “At this point, we are using points to reward users, but there are some limits.”

And Brave believed that it is possible to go beyond that through a partnership.

Moreover, BitFlyer explained that more details about the crypto wallet would arrive during an event on July 30, held in Tokyo in which Brendan Eich, the founder of Brave, will be present.

In Japan, Brave is suddenly becoming popular. In the previous month, Brave worked with Korean pop idol, BTS (Bangtan Boys), and a Japanese esports team, Rush Gaming, to develop browsers exclusively for users in Japan.
