Uber Price Per Share Awaits Upon IPO Filing

Uber Technologies on Thursday filed its initial public offering (IPO) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). One of the most awaited Silicon Valley IPOs since 2012 (Facebook).

Uber filing for IPO, sets the company on a bigger stage. That will send the company against its main competitor, Lyft, which had its debut last month.

The transportation company will be listed under the New York Stock Exchange with the symbol “UBER.” However, it is still waiting for its IPO price.

As Uber not exposing its valuation, there are reports that the company is expecting to sell at around $10 billion stock worth. In other words, the company expects to value around ninety to a hundred billion dollars.

Uber IPO Filing Report

The transportation service company within its IPO filing reported its revenue amounting to $11.27 billion in 2018. That with net income amounting to $997 million and an adjusted EBITDA (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization) loss amounting to $1.85 billion.

Previous Disclosed Financial Reports

Even as a private company for a couple of years, Uber willingly reveals its financials. Just last February, Uber shared to the public its quarter-four revenue in 2018 amounting to $3 billion.

Meanwhile, the company’s active platform, new mobility (Eats) performed with revenue amounting to $9.2 billion last year. That reached a total booking of 1.5 billion trips within the same quarter.

One of Uber’s performing divisions, the ridesharing inclines from revenue of $3.5 billion in 2016 to its 2018’s $9.2 billion. Moreover, ridesharing product whole bookings reached $41.5 billion.

Uber Vs. Facebook

Elsewhere, there are beliefs that the interest in Uber’s IPO could go against Facebook’s (went public in 2012). Facebook had established about $16 billion in its IPO. That was the largest within the United States technology IPO following Visa Inc. during 2008 with offering close to $18 billion.
