Samsung Fixes Software Fingerprint Complication

On Wednesday, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd stated it had updated its software to fix the problems regarding fingerprint recognition.

The flagship Galaxy S10 and Note 10 smartphones also feature the said issue.

Meanwhile, Samsung has expressed an apology via its customer support app Samsung Members.

Moreover, they were advising Galaxy phone users to update their biometric verification to its latest software version.

In a local daily newspaper, a British stated that a bug on her Galaxy S10 unlocked the device. This is regardless of the biometric data recorded in the device.

On the other side, Samsung indicated that the issue could occur. This, when patterns appearing on specific protectors, comes with silicon cases recognizing fingerprints.

The firm stated on its Korean app, “Samsung Electronics takes the security of products very seriously and will make sure to strengthen security through continuous improvement and updates to enhance biometric authentication functions.”

Tech Reviewers Deceived Samsung’s Fingerprint Sensors

Recently, tech reviewers have misled Samsung’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. The issues were also advertised as a revolutionary feature by the company.

Meanwhile, some videos on tech community websites demonstrate that Galaxy devices can be unlocked. It is through silicon protectors by means of persimmon or a small doll.

The electronics giant said it would direct notifications for software updates to Galaxy S10 and Note 10 users. These are the ones who have registered and having issues with their biometric data.

In addition, the Bank of China has dragged fingerprint payments from specific Samsung devices.

Alipay’s fingerprint payment that serves as a verification function app was also put off in the meantime. The suspension was not in general and is only for some Galaxy devices.

Elsewhere, most of the apps that no longer work on Samsung Galaxy S10 are from UK banks.

After an article in the popular newspaper was published, the case broke out. Moreover, there were also interferences by Israeli and South Korean banks.
