Samsung Confirms Conspicuous Galaxy S10 Fingerprint Defect

A few days ago, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd announced it would soon roll out a software patch. This is to repair complications with the fingerprint recognition on its leading Galaxy S10 smartphone.

According to a newspaper report, a British user indicated this week that a bug unlocked her Galaxy S10. It is even without the biometric data installed in the device.

The user also said that after she bought a third-party screen protector, her husband was able to unlock her phone. This is by using his fingerprint, even if it was not registered.

The South Korean tech giant stated that the issue could occur when patterns of some protectors that come with silicone phone cases are familiar, along with fingerprints. The information was a notice on its customer support app.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s online-only KaKaobank has informed customers to stop using the Galaxy 10.

The firm was told to discontinue use due to its fingerprint recognition purpose to log into its services until the matter settles.

Samsung Galaxy S10 series phones came way back in March. The smartphones have an in-display sensor that makes use of the ultrasound to notice ridges of fingerprints.

The said function is what Samsung has advertised as a “revolutionary” biometric authentication feature.

By affiliating with Qualcomm, Samsung offers biometric security using sound waves. This is to read the valleys and ridges of a finger’s surface.

It is not the first time that Samsung’s leading mobile devices have encountered in a significant technological problem.

Other problems Samsung Galaxy Encountered

Samsung: Man holding samsung galaxy s 10.Way back in 2016, the Galaxy Note 7 appears to be susceptible to catching fire impulsively. It has even exploded in extreme cases.

The costing of Samsung came up to $5 billion (€4.5 billion) in recall costs, consumer compensation, and class-action lawsuits worldwide.

Recently, in another screening problem, Galaxy Fold review models that have a protective sheet that appeared like a screen protector.

Moreover, testers mistakenly made the removal. It has then been producing another problem for the company and obliging it to redesign the device.

Elsewhere, Samsung has accomplished something that Tim Cook, chief of its arch-competing Apple, has recommended would be all but impossible.

This is when it has moved its smartphone engineering out of China.

At the end of last month, the South Korean electronics group, silently closed its last enduring Chinese smartphone plant in Huizhou, Guangdong.

They have been handing out gifts of its chief Galaxy S10 and Note ten phones, along with some cash bonuses, to pioneer employees.

The withdrawal of the world’s largest smartphone maker was the newest blow to China’s long dominance in high-end manufacturing. This was after wages upsurge, and the danger of US tariffs weighs on other companies, such as Apple.

Two years ago, the Huizhou plant’s 6,000 workforces were still making 63 million phones, or 17 percent of Samsung’s global invention, according to specialists.

On the flip side, according to an executive at the South Korean company, its closure alongside the plants in Tianjin and Shenzhen, is the conclusion of a decade-long strategy by Samsung. This is to “diversify the risks of its manufacturing bases.”
