Lucky Australia holding its place in the world

The Lucky Country is the title of a 1964 book about Australia by Donald Horne, and for many observers this title fits the land down under very well. In fact, it has become somewhat of a nickname for the country. Among other things, it refers to Australia’s abundant natural resources, its distance from many problem areas in the world, it’s almost permanent sunny weather, and its early use of the British legal and parliamentary system. All four of these advantages persist up to the current day.
