Japanese Firm Monex Upgrades Mobile App | Finance Brokerage

More broker firms transition into offering products for younger investors as Monex Inc. upgrades its mobile-based trading app. Ferci was launched last June, but its functionalities were only upgraded last week.

Millennial Japanese traders can trade equities in addition to buying and selling investment instruments like ETFs and REITs. The app allows conducting them on smartphones by opening general accounts to deposit and trade equities with cash.

First launched in June, without offerings, traders can now use the app to use all Monex offerings.

Recently, the broker added a community function that allows traders to interact with each other. This allows beginners to reference from more experienced traders.

The transitions started in the west when Robinhood dropped commission fees and began catering only to millennials. Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab, and TD Ameritrade also followed suit.

Freetrade.io also launched commission-free trade offerings in Europe.

Monex Group is one of the few broker companies that have individual customers outside of the country. It is one of the few publicly listed companies in the world with a Coincheck service.

Coincheck is one of the top major online securities companies in Japan. The cryptocurrency exchange service operator is one of the leading operators around the world.

More Plans for Monex
