IG Group, Teach for Australia – The Newest Couple in Town

IG Group has this week announced its new partnership with Teach for Australia (TFA). It’s been a while since the giant London-based broker announced any collaborations, so something good must be cooking.

Make-no-mistake, though, IG has been involved in multiple charity works. And, its appetite for education-based projects seems big. In 2020, the broker rolled out collaboration with Tech Fund, a UK-based charity, where they rolled out a £2M education fund meant to support disadvantaged schools badly hit by the novel coronavirus.

Teach for Australia is a non-profit-making organization based in Australia, that believes in education for every child, regardless of their background, social status, or anything that would render them disadvantaged.

Through their fine course, TFA has supported and empowered close to 300,000 disadvantaged children and teachers. The organization partners with over 200 schools, and has done over a thousand placements in different schools with disadvantaged students.

The New Partnership

The new IG – TFA partnership will see them work together for three years. This is the first time the duo is teaming up. We can only imagine how much good will come out of it. The giant broker is expected to help the Australian-based organization further bridge the gap of education inequity.

TFA will then be able to keep more children educated, train and mentor more teachers, and recruit even more to further push its mandate. Speaking of the new partnership, Melodie Potts Rosevear, the CEO of TFA, said that this program will be a great tool for teachers and school leaders to positively impact disadvantaged children and further close the education inequity gap.

It’s worth mentioning that IG has been running an initiative dubbed Brighter Future, which, according to Kevin Algeo, the CEO of IG, was started to foster IG’s commitment to its people, customers, and surrounding communities. So far, the program has been a success, and IG has been making lots of progress in positively touching the lives of different people in the community.

Therefore, the new partnership with Teach for Australia is a great addition to the initiative, taking it international. But, the relationship between IG and the Australian-based organization will not stop at this program. The broker will also support multiple other projects by the organization.

The New 2021 Wave

2021 seems to be a year of sponsorships for IG. In May 2021, the broker signed up with England’s national cricket team. And looks like that move was good for business, with numbers reportedly skyrocketing thereafter.

With such programs as IG’s Brighter Future, the future is nothing less luminous, both IG and the communities impacted. Their strong desire to help has seen them move into action fast, especially now that the coronavirus has had a hit on communities. When the pandemic hit hard in 2020, the broker moved £5 million from its accounts to the Brighter Future Fund.
