HBO Announces More Partnerships with Different Companies

The American entertainment company, HBO Max recently discloses several partnerships with various companies. The forthcoming streaming services of the company from AT&T and WarnerMedia unveiled new partners yesterday.

The deal is that those companies could carry HBO’s hit shows and content. However, technology critics noted that there were no deals with Comcast Corp., Amazon, and even Roku, some of the biggest streaming services.

The company content will now be available on Cox Communications, Altice USA Inc., Microsoft Corp., and Sony. Aside from those, other partners are National Cable Television Cooperative and Verizon Communications.

The shows and series will launch by May 27 this year according to the company.

In the past, HBO has already announced deals with Charter Communications Inc., Hulu, Alphabet, and even Apple Inc.

Technology news reports commend the move of the WarnerMedia-owned company as it comes at a time when home entertainment is in demand.

The longer pandemic continues to wreak havoc, as people are advised to stay inside their homes. This ultimately causes the demand for online entertainment to surge.

However, this might also be a negative for HBO as these pricy deals might not work out. Considering that the income of people is affected, consumers might opt to cut their subscriptions to curb expenses.

AT&T customers pay about $15 per month to subscribe. So WarnerMedia started offering a lower-cost deal. They also announced that HBO Max is going to be free to some customers.

Looking at the digital streaming game, HBO is entering a crowded game. Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the newcomer Disney+ already dominate the industry.

But the company also has great assets in its arsenal; The Game of Thrones, Westworld, and Euphoria. Such shows could help the company make it in the online streaming business.

Bringing in Blockbusters

WanerMedia announced that the Justice League version of director Zack Snyder release is going to be on HBO Max next year.

The director left the film during post-production. But he is the sole credited director for the DCU film.

However, despite the hype of the film, some critics felt great dismay for the highly-anticipated DC film. Some fans called it out for its heavy graphics and modern technology CGI.

Avengers director Joss Whedon stepped in on the picture to help write and shoot new material for the film.

The mixed receptions for the Justice League film lead to massive corporate shakeups for DC Entertainment.

Now, HBO Max will be premiering the original Zack Snyder version of the famous movie.
