Google Finance Emphasizes Bitcoin Alongside Fiat Currencies

In Google Finance, when a user enters the tool that allows you to compare markets of different categories, by choosing the category “Currency”, you can see the price of Bitcoin in dollars. However, this option is not working in many countries yet. Apparently, for now, it can be seen from the United States and Mexico. Although it would not be surprising if it soon spreads to other geographical areas.

Years ago, it could draw attention that Bitcoin appeared among the market values together with other currencies or fiat currencies, on different boards or media lists. Still, the truth is that for some time, even traditional newspapers in different parts of the globe have added to the most famous cryptocurrency to provide its price data.

Some might say that there are already top entrepreneurs and investors looking at what happens with Bitcoin. For example, the Argentine website iProUp points out that Bitcoin received important signs of interest this year from institutional investors. They represent companies such as MicroStrategy and more recently, Square, which are directed at their funds’ treasury reserve. In total, 18 companies have acquired 612,944 BTC. It is equivalent to a little more than 7,000 million dollars.

Another widely used financial information service, Yahoo Finance, also ranks BTC/USD first in its currency section. Second place is Ethereum (ETH) in US dollars. Lastly, the EUR/USD pair came in at third place.

Economic problems and the pandemic made cryptocurrencies attractive

Due to the health crisis, 2020 has been very critical around the world. It has also had consequences on the global economic ecosystem. In this scenario, very complicated economic situations exist. But with very particular characteristics, in countries such as Zimbabwe, Argentina or Venezuela.

The evolution of technology is accompanied by new social customs. They include teleworking, the need to make easy payments without leaving home, the need for good systems for sending remittances with low commissions, and several other factors. They can be the ingredients that make Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies ), attractive options for people who are outside the traditional financial and banking system. To make it simple, they are the best choices for people who stay at home but need solutions to problems that the system is not providing.

So it’s no wonder that the information providing giants such as Google Finance, want to add Bitcoin to their lists.
