Ethereum, XRP, and Solana jump around 1%

Bitcoin, Ethereum and other altcoins are seeing a surge again today.

Over the last 24 hours, meme cryptos have been dropping significantly.

  • Dogecoin price dropped by 0.23%.
  • Shiba Inu price dropped by 1.54%.

The global crypto market cap totals $1.07 trillion, up 0.90% over the past day. The overall market capitalization of cryptocurrency has seen a 3.13% increase over the past day, and currently sits at $46.67 billion.

Today’s XRP price is up 0.95%, and each XRP token is trading at $0.381. This crypto currently has a market cap of $19.42 billion. The total trading volume decreased by 7.18% during the last day.

The price of Solana fell by 0.47% in the previous 24 hours. This crypto has a market cap of $8.54 billion. Each SOL token trades for $22.56. Trading volume decreased by 15.72% within 24 hours.

Ethereum price

The price of the second largest crypto, Ethereum, rose by 1.25% in the last 24 hours. Ethereum’s market cap is $202.00 billion. The total trading volume during the previous 24 hours decreased by 7.83%.

The crypto industry’s layoffs have slowed significantly over the past month, with around 570 employees laid off in February, down from 2,850 in January.

The reductions in staffing were significant, impacting businesses involved in blockchain analytics, blockchain, software development, and digital asset platforms, with double digit decreases.

Bittrex, Magic Eden, Fireblocks, Protocol Labs, and The Block – all businesses in the crypto field – announced major layoffs recently.

Payments company Affirm announced it was suspending its crypto program amid a 19% layoff during the month, though it’s unclear how many employees were laid off from the crypto unit.
