Epic Games Reboots Fortnite To Combat Contenders

Lately, Epic Games has introduced a “Chapter 2” reboot of its battle royale smash hit “Fortnite”. Since then, it has been drawing millions of gamers globally. This was after it has bid to pause defections to opponents “Apex Legends” and “Call of Duty”.

Earlier this year, Fortnite had 250 million registered players as recorded.

Meanwhile, the website “https://www.pcgamesn.com/fortnite/fortnite-battle-royale-player-numbers”, has been down since Sunday.

The outage has given users no option other than staring at a black screen. This was after the season-end of an in-game event. In it, a meteor destroyed the original island map and turned it into a black hole.

Moreover, the latest version of the game features 13 new locations.

There is water gameplay where characters can swim, fish, and ride motorboats. New places are also included in hiding.

In addition, a host of new avatars and guns are contained within.

The developments were hashtagged as #FirstDrop. They were all received well by gamers.

In the U.S., “Fortnite is back” is also trending on Twitter with 13 thousand tweets.

The new game played live by gamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney has caught nearly 80,000 of watchers.

Less than two hours after its introduction, it is already on video game live-streaming platform Twitch.

Fortnite and its early competitor Tencent-backed “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” (PUBG) has promoted an arena-style battle royale survival concept game.

The grounding of the game is this: 100 gamers are thrown down onto an island to match each other to the death.

Downloading of the games are free, but users pay for upgrades such as the “skins” presented on characters.
