Dogecoin developers are working on Fee Reduction

Dogecoin developers are rolling out a new improvement that would reduce fees by 90%, and Elon Musk, working with DOGE developers from 2019, says it would be an important improvement. In addition, the proposal should receive community support from both Dogecoin miners and node operators.
Dogecoin developers are working on an important network improvement. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the new fee reduction code is an important improvement for the meme-based blockchain. Developers of Dogecoin and Elon Musk are pushing for an upgrade proposal to reduce transaction fees from 1 DOGE to 0.1 DOGE, making it a more cost-effective way to pay. For the upgrade to be approved and the fee reduction to take effect, the proposal must be able to gain community support, including DOGE miners and node operators. Developers of Dogecoin and Musk plan to introduce even lower fees of 0.01 DOGE.

Although the CEO of SpaceX has been considered the “CEO of Dogecoin” since 2019, Musk has advised the developers behind DOGE. Musk encouraged the team behind the meme-based cryptocurrency to improve higher transaction throughput and provided a lot of advice and input, according to Dogecoin developer Ross Nicoll.
Although Musk offered to fund the development of Dogecoin, the team declined the offer. Then, in mid-May, the CEO of Tesla announced on Twitter that he was working with the developers of Dogecoin. At the same time, he decided to stop accepting Bitcoin as a payment in his company for electric vehicles.
The main developer of Dogecoin, who introduced the fee reduction, Michi Lumin, revealed that the community plans to reduce the fees even before Musk stopped behind the upgrade. However, the billionaire entrepreneur believes that this key goal is “important progress.”
DOGE has seen significant price increases over the last few months, making it unsustainable for smaller meme-based token purchases.
In the future, Musk and Dogecoin developers must persuade the community to accept their proposal. Then, individual node operators and miners would have the ultimate choice of whether they would like to present the upcoming release. Miners must be confident that they will benefit from a lower fee, and at least two-thirds of the network must adopt the upgrade.
