Digital currency conference in Pyongyang

North Korea is the most isolated country in the world, according to various sources. However, this did not stop North Korean authorities to organize a cryptocurrency conference.

An interesting fact about North Korea is that access to the intranet is also quite limited. It means that the number of people who are aware of the digital currency market is significantly lower than in other countries.

As mentioned above, North Korea organized a crypto conference several months ago in April. Nevertheless, based on the information provided by the organizers, 100 people attended the conference. North Koreans claimed that a conference was successful.

The next digital currency conference will take place in Pyongyang in 2020. This conference will start on February 24^th and will continue on February 25.  Additionally, on February 26, conference will continue with private business meetings organized upon request.

The Spanish Korean Friendship Association will be the sponsor of the event. North Korea’s Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries is in charge of the conference. The name is Pyongyang Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Conference.

According to several sources, North Korea used illegal methods to obtain $2 billion worth of digital currencies. Moreover, North Korean hackers managed to penetrate South Korean and Japanese exchanges. The United Nations prepared a report about this problem. One of the most alarming parts of the report is that North Korea might use this money to fund the nuclear arms project.

Cryptocurrencies on September 13

Bitcoin’s price remained above $10,000 on Friday. Moreover, Bitcoin managed to strengthen its position. On September 13, Bitcoin’s price was $10.232. Bitcoin even could surpass the $10,500 level.

Litecoin’s price was $69.06.

Ethereum was in good condition even though its price failed to surpass $180. However, the price remained above the $175 support level. On Friday, the difference between the price of Ethreum and $180 level was only one dollar.
