British Prime Minister Grants Huawei 5G Entry in the U.K.

Recently, reports suggested that British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is planning to allow the controversial Chinese firm, Huawei, to have access to Britain’s future 5G telecommunication services network.

Moreover, he is recommending the Theresa May verdict that sparked a cabinet crisis.

Meanwhile, senior sources in Whitehall with the security services say that the government is going towards a decision that will let Huawei give access to the “non-contentious” parts of the network.

Also, it is a move that would put the U.K. on a destructive course with America. The US has excluded Huawei over uncertainties that it has ties with Chinese intelligence agencies.

One source near the top of government indicated that Huawei’s carrier business has come under inspection amidst the switch to 5G connectivity. The U.S. claims that the brand’s network infrastructure represents a security threat.

The pronouncement may perhaps complicate the U.K.’s connection with the U.S. It is because Washington previously called on its allies to drop Huawei from all 5G networks.

In a news report on the U.K., they have stated they may embrace Huawei again in the future.

The statement comes over three months following two British committees that found out there was no technical reason not to use the firm’s tech in 5G networks.

On the other side, the committees recognized geopolitical and ethical problems linked by using Huawei tech. But they noted that these fears were unrelated to its safety and efficiency.

Technical Reasons Preventing Use Of 5G Networks

The decision is likely to come out in November. Moreover, it comes as a result of the U.K. government’s fears of its 5G networks.

Meanwhile, the matter occurred when they have been using inferior technology in comparison to Huawei’s equipment.

In recent days, there have been additional meetings regarding Huawei and the thought being formed is similar to what former prime minister Theresa May insisted before.

Elsewhere, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission wants to place more boundaries on Huawei and ZTE.

The commission stated it would exclude corporations that receive government money from acquiring equipment or services from the Chinese tech companies.

Last Monday, the FCC declared the proposal in Washington. Moreover, the agency will have voting about it next month.

The issue was the latest move in a mounting list of U.S. restrictions. It is also aiming to curb Huawei and its global expansion.

Huawei is the world’s major telecommunications equipment maker and a leading smartphone brand.

The company is also a frontrunner in 5G technology equipment.

In addition, ZTE produces telecom gears and smartphones but is a minor player than Huawei.

FCC chairman Ajit Pai claimed that Huawei and ZTE probes a threat to the security of U.S. communications networks.

The probing is because they have to follow Chinese law. He also indicated it requires firms to fulfill requests from the country’s intelligence services.
