Bold, Daring, and Future Facing, Sony Reveals PS5 Design

The technology industry and gamers everywhere across the globe finally saw the much awaited PS5. After Sony and Microsoft unveiled their gaming consoles seven years ago, the PlayStation and the Xbox One became staples inside every gamer’s homes.

The devices underwent restyling to fit in with living spaces. Most are the color black and take a rectangular shape.

However, the new PlayStation 5 comes in a “bold, daring, and future facing” design according to the company’s Interactive Entertainment officer Jim Ryan. The new design immediately stole the attention of gamers and people online.

When the new PlayStation 5 arrives in shops later this year, they will definitely be an eye-catcher. Microsoft’s Xbox One is also a show stealer. It’s shaped like a monolith with flash neon green accents.

But Sony’s PS5 will definitely take the cake on this one. The new design has two white panels with a black system sandwiched inside.

Technology news reports say that it looks like it came out of the company’s own futuristic games. The console matches with blue lights that glow against the white clean panels.

According to Sony’s Jim Ryan, the technology company wanted something that is “for the 2020s.”

Yesterday’s reveal comes a few months ahead of the actual device’s expected arrival at stores before the holiday shopping season.

The Japanese technology company has not yet announced the price of the PlayStation 5. Aside from that, the launch date of the gaming device wasn’t disclosed during yesterday’s reveal.

The hour-long presentations showed two versions of the PlayStation 5. The first one is the version with a slot for the game or video disks. And the other one is the version without any slots for players who prefer downloading games.
