Amazon global store to close all pop-up markets – here’s why

Amazon has been one of the e-commerce giants worldwide. Furthermore, this e-commerce giant learned all it could on its physical retail store experiment.

Amazon.com’s initial decision states that it is to close all 87 pop-up stores located in malls and Whole Foods. That includes Kohl’s retail store. The decision comes as the company finds out that the physical retail environment is a lot harder than expected.

The announcement came ahead of the e-commerce giant’s plan to determine assault on the bricks and mortar store industry. The company plans to launch its new chain. That of which was suggested by the analysts at Jefferies. The analysts mainly suggest Amazon close its pop-up stores as the company isn’t meant to be a physical retail store.

Amazon pop-up store policy

The e-commerce giant’s policy on its pop-up stores is quite deranged. Firstly, purchasing Whole Foods. Secondly, shutting down about 365 discount chain as it subsequently declares to open 3,000 Amazon Go stores in the next couple of years. Lastly, closing down its pop-up stores – the company’s actions have been frantic as it went on and on.

Despite all that, Amazon’s physical retail experience hasn’t been a success so far. The company still is committed to own broader patterns of space.

Going forward

The company’s physical store sales mainly include its 500 Whole Food stores. Moreover, looking at the pop-up stores rating, three gains four-star ratings. On the single Books location, a number of Go stores doesn’t contribute much of a profit compared to others. At the same time, sales at Whole Foods are at soft and best since it started. On the next year or so as Amazon starts handling Whole Foods, its physical store’s earnings are lower compared to its previous year performance. Even so, partially the outcome of Amazon changes the store’s fiscal calendar.

Amazon plans to open about 100 pop-up stores as it begins rolling out normally during 2016. However, the company never reach such milestone. Kohl’s CEO, Michelle Gass says the analysts regarding the retailers quarter earnings conference call. According to Gass “We’ve made the decision to transition from the store-within-a-store concept to a more robust wholesale relationship with Amazon as we found a better way to serve our customers.”

Even if Amazon close its pop-up stores. Reportedly, they are all set on widening its Amazon Books and its four-star concept. Furthermore, the stores are at to sell items rated four stars or higher on the company’s website. Looking at the supermarket point of view on success, somehow, Amazon commits on to becoming a full-scale omnichannel retailer.
