Airbus Prime Candidate Attains Air Arabia Bid

There is anticipation that Airbus will win an order for at least 100 jets from Air Arabia. Next week, this will go with an announcement probably coming as soon as the Dubai Airshow airs.

Meanwhile, the Emirati budget carrier has been contemplating the order for up to 120 jets. For more than a year, this could double its current fleet of 55 narrow-body aircraft.

According to some spokesperson, Air Arabia has held discussions with both Airbus and Boeing stated it would make a decision by January.

Moreover, it was anticipating selecting a European planemaker.

Airbus refused to comment. Air Arabia also did not instantly respond to an emailed invitation for comment.

On November 17 to 21, the Dubai Airshow is scheduled to happen.

The central operation of the United Arab Emirates has only listed airlines from Sharjah airport, about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from Dubai International Airport. In addition, it is the hub of Emirates Airlines.

Air Arabia operates from the UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah airport and has projects in Egypt and Morocco.

Arrangement of A Budget Airline

Last month, the firm announced it was setting up a budget airline in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. The set up goes with the state-owned Etihad Airways.

However, it is still uncertain when the carrier, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, will start its operations.

Currently, Air Arabia’s fleet is only Airbus A320 family jets. This means an Airbus order could deliver it with operational consistency.

The decision would come after Boeing’s 737 MAX jet stays grounded following two fatal collisions.

In a statement, Boeing said it now anticipates the jet to return on commercial flights in January. Moreover, it will be pushing back its target for this quarter.

Elsewhere, according to industry reports, final safety checks have been carried out by Boeing the leading aircraft manufacturer now wants to get the due clearance before the year ends.

On the flip side, the global aviation market is not yet ready for the aircraft return.

Last month according to a news report, Boeing took ten new plane orders but observed that some customers switching the grounded 737 MAX planes in favor of more high-priced wide-body models.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has asked for some further software changes that Boeing is at presently navigating.
